About this journey

This 12-day luxury adventure introduces you to the very best of Cairo, Sinai, Western Desert, Red Sea, crafted by Egypt Stay & Tours' specialists with over 20 years of Egypt expertise. From the moment your private chauffeur greets you at the airport to your final farewell, every detail has been considered. You'll travel with an expert Egyptologist (or local equivalent) who brings ancient history to life, stay in carefully selected luxury accommodations, and experience moments most travellers miss.

Unlike generic group tours, this itinerary is fully customisable. Add experiences, extend stays, upgrade hotels, or adjust the pace — we tailor every journey to suit your style. With 24/7 in-country support, transparent pricing, and direct relationships with all suppliers (including our own seven hotels in Egypt), you'll experience Egypt the way it should be experienced: seamlessly, authentically, and without compromise.

Egyptologist's note

What this trip really shows you

Twelve days designed for travellers who don't want to sit in coaches. Hot-air balloon over the West Bank of Luxor, sailing leg on a felucca rather than a cruiser, two days of desert 4WD, and a Red Sea finish with diving or kitesurfing options. Every sport is led by a specialist instructor; the Egyptology runs alongside, not instead.

Historical context

The Theban West Bank is the densest concentration of royal tombs and mortuary temples on earth — Valley of the Kings, Valley of the Queens, Deir el-Bahari, the Ramesseum, Medinet Habu, the Tombs of the Nobles. Seeing it from a balloon at dawn shows you the structural logic of New Kingdom Egypt: temples on the cultivated strip, tombs cut into the cliff behind. The geography itself is half the lesson.

What you'll experience

  • Hot-air balloon over Luxor's West Bank at sunrise (60-min flight)
  • Two-night felucca sail Aswan → Esna with crew cooking on board
  • White Desert 4WD with one camp night under the chalk pinnacles
  • Red Sea dive package (PADI Open Water or two reef dives) or kite option
  • Climb Mt Sinai pre-dawn for sunrise from the summit (optional)
  • All gear, transfers, and instructor language preferences arranged

Insider tip from your guide

Book the balloon for your first morning in Luxor, not your last. If wind cancels on day 1 there's room to reschedule; if it cancels on your last morning it's gone. We routinely arrange this on arrival depending on the forecast.
