Journey highlights
This 14-day luxury classic introduces you to the very best of Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Hurghada, crafted by Egypt Stay & Tours' specialists with over 20 years of Egypt expertise. From the moment your private chauffeur greets you at the airport to your final farewell, every detail has been considered. You'll travel with an expert Egyptologist (or local equivalent) who brings ancient history to life, stay in carefully selected luxury accommodations, and experience moments most travellers miss.
Unlike generic group tours, this itinerary is fully customisable. Add experiences, extend stays, upgrade hotels, or adjust the pace — we tailor every journey to suit your style. With 24/7 in-country support, transparent pricing, and direct relationships with all suppliers (including our own seven hotels in Egypt), you'll experience Egypt the way it should be experienced: seamlessly, authentically, and without compromise.
Egyptologist's note
Two weeks is the proper grand tour. You see the Old Kingdom necropolis, the New Kingdom capital, the Greco-Roman south, the Ptolemaic Mediterranean coast, and finish with three or four nights on the Red Sea — usually Hurghada or El Gouna — to actually rest before the long flight home. This is the Victorian-era 'whole Egypt' itinerary updated for a modern cruise + 5★ resort sequence.
The Cairo allocation is generous (often four nights), Alexandria gets a full overnight, the Nile cruise is the longer four-night sailing, and you get to Abu Simbel by morning flight. The Red Sea finish is deliberate: it gives you decompression days and lets you process what you have seen — most travellers say the synthesis happens beach-side, not on day two of the trip.
Historical context
This is the route that 19th-century travellers followed by dahabiya — a private wooden sailing boat — over six to eight weeks. The compressed modern version covers the same chronological arc (Memphis → Thebes → Aswan → Alexandria) in a fortnight thanks to internal flights and the Aswan-Cairo air shuttle.
Insider tip from your guide
Save Saqqara for the second Cairo block at the end — after a week in Luxor and Aswan you will read the Old Kingdom mastabas with completely new eyes.
Meet your representative at Cairo Airport, private transfer to hotel. Welcome briefing with your Egyptologist guide. Evening at leisure.
