About this journey

This 21-day ultra-luxury classic introduces you to the very best of Cairo, Alexandria, Siwa, Luxor, Aswan, Abu Simbel, Sharm, crafted by Egypt Stay & Tours' specialists with over 20 years of Egypt expertise. From the moment your private chauffeur greets you at the airport to your final farewell, every detail has been considered. You'll travel with an expert Egyptologist (or local equivalent) who brings ancient history to life, stay in carefully selected ultra-luxury accommodations, and experience moments most travellers miss.

Unlike generic group tours, this itinerary is fully customisable. Add experiences, extend stays, upgrade hotels, or adjust the pace — we tailor every journey to suit your style. With 24/7 in-country support, transparent pricing, and direct relationships with all suppliers (including our own seven hotels in Egypt), you'll experience Egypt the way it should be experienced: seamlessly, authentically, and without compromise.

Egyptologist's note

What this trip really shows you

Three weeks is the deep itinerary — Egypt as a single uninterrupted study, not a sampler. You get the full Cairo arc, Alexandria, the Western Desert (Siwa or the White Desert depending on season), a long Nile cruise, Abu Simbel, and a Red Sea finish at Sharm or El Gouna. This is the itinerary serious history travellers, photography travellers, and writers tend to choose.

The Western Desert addition is what separates this from the 14-day grand tour. The White Desert's chalk formations, the hot springs of Bahariya, and — if Siwa is included — the Oracle Temple where Alexander the Great was confirmed as son of Amun in 331 BCE: these are the Egypt that sits outside the Nile valley narrative most tours stop at.

Historical context

The 21-day itinerary is the only sensible way to include both the Nile valley pharaonic core and the desert oases without compressing them. Siwa, in particular, was strategically and religiously important throughout pharaonic and Greco-Roman history precisely because it was difficult to reach — the same difficulty that still keeps it off shorter itineraries today.

What you'll experience

  • Spend nights under the stars in the White Desert chalk formations
  • Visit the Oracle of Amun in Siwa — where Alexander the Great was crowned son of the god (subject to inclusion)
  • Take the longer 5-7 night Nile cruise option for proper sailing time
  • See Abu Simbel and Lake Nasser at length, not as a day-trip add-on
  • Cover Cairo, Alexandria, Luxor, Aswan, the Western Desert, and the Red Sea in one trip
  • Photograph dawn light at most of Egypt's signature monuments without the rush

Insider tip from your guide

If Siwa is on your version of the itinerary, ask for the late-afternoon visit to Cleopatra's Spring rather than the noon swim — the date palms throw better light and the Berber locals are more talkative once the heat drops.
